Dear Parents,
Welcome to the Morris School District. To make your initial visit and subsequent registration a smooth process there are a few things we need from you to help when registering your child. All forms are here for you to print at your convenience or you can visit one of our schools to receive a registration packet in person.
Once you have completed the forms please visit one of our schools so that the registration can be reviewed and all necessary registration documents shared with a staff member. If your child is entering school for the first time, the school nurse must have a report of a physical examination done within the calendar year before starting classes. The preferred form to use is the Universal Child Health Record. It is very helpful for a parent to meet and to speak to a nurse when they register. The nurse reviews the health records and lets the parents know what requirements have not been met.
After the school has signed off on the paperwork, the parents of students in kindergarten through fifth grade will be provided with an appointment time and accompanied by their son or daughter present the completed registration to the Board of Education Curriculum Office and finalize the registration process. Here a photograph of the student will be taken and a school assignment will be provided.
Students in grades 6-8 should go to Frelinghuysen Middle School to complete the registration process while students in grades 9-12 should go to Morristown High School to register.
Finally we do have an electronic notification system, HONEYWELL Instant Alert that our parents upon registering should complete. This enables parents to receive critical information in an expedient manner; the instructions for such are also contained in the registration packet.
The forms parents should complete in full are:
- Emergency Contact Information
- Free and Reduced Lunch Application as necessary- available at schools only
- Complete the HONEYWELL Instant Alert for Schools
Only for students with IEP’s
